About Sterling

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Sterling is a sweet and gentle boy searching for his forever home. Nearing a year old and weighing around 60 pounds, Sterling thrives in the company of other dogs and is currently living with several dogs and cats in his foster home. Although initially shy and not fully socialized with people, he has shown promising progress, especially after attending a recent event where, despite his nerves, he warmed up to volunteers with affectionate gestures and found joy with a playful puppy companion. Sterling has spent much of his life alongside a close-knit animal family and now seeks a loving environment where he can grow more confident. Sterling would be happiest in a home with another dog, as a canine companion brings out his playful side and helps ease his shyness, though patient individual training will further boost his confidence. A fenced yard where he can play and exercise off-leash is ideal. Sterling is ready to be your loyal friend, settling in on the couch after a day of fun. He is neutered, fully vetted, microchipped, house trained, and up to date on vaccinations. Currently located near Higginsville Junction, MO, he’s waiting for the family that will show him the love and understanding he deserves. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
