If “big and goofy” had a name, it would be Rufus! This lovable boy is urgently looking for a place to call home after spending the past month surviving at a gas station. He deserves so much more—and he’s ready to give a lifetime of love in return. Rufus is a 1-year-old, 40–50 pound Pit Bull mix with a heart as big as his personality. He absolutely adores people and will happily shower you with kisses and lean in close for hugs. In his mind, he’s a lap dog—and honestly, he just might be right! We believe Rufus may have come from a homeless encampment, but despite his rough start, he is incredibly friendly and trusting. He gets very excited around smaller dogs and doesn’t quite realize his own strength yet, so he’ll benefit from some basic training and guidance. He’ll also need more help learning leash manners and house training, but he’s young, eager, and ready to learn.
