About Bertie
Bertie arrived at the shelter after being abandoned, but she’s shown nothing but a sweet, open heart since day one. She is striking to look at, with a brindle and cream coat, a stocky build, and gentle eyes. The staff thinks she’s possibly a mix of Pit Bull Terrier and Australian Shepherd, which might explain her athletic energy and sharp attention. Despite all she’s been through, Bertie is friendly and seems to seek connection with people—she’s quick to come over for attention and eager to explore her surroundings. Since she’s around 9 to 10 months old, she’s still figuring out the basics and is not yet house trained. She’s fully vaccinated, heartworm and Lyme negative, and ready for the next chapter. Because she was born on May 17, Bertie is a Taurus—a sign known for loyalty and affection once trust is built. If you’re over 25 and have a current vet reference, this spirited young girl could be your perfect fit. Your new best friend is just one click away.
