Brave Heart, a Scottish Fold, was rescued mid-November 2025 with a broken pelvis and a dislocated right hind leg. He also had puncture wounds on his right hind leg. The trauma that caused his injuries is unknown, but the most likely cause would be a predatory attack. Brave Heart required surgery called a FHO (femoral head ostomy) to save his leg and restore his ability to walk. He was rushed to Eastern PA Veterinary Hospital in Allentown PA. Brave Heart's surgery was performed on November 26th and he came back to his foster home on Thanksgiving. Brave Heart required 2 months of physical therapy to return to full function. He has no limitations although you can see differences in his gait and stair climbing from "normal". Despite all that he has been through, Brave Heart remains a sweet loving guy, who purrs easily and craves belly rubs. He has been ready for a forever home for a while now; however, his foster family has been reluctant to let him go. They acknowledge that in order to get the attention that he deserves, Brave requires a home as an only cat or with one or two other cats. He seems to perk up when grandchildren are around, but does retreat to a quiet area if they are too rambunctious. Brave does not hesitate to let the other cats know that he is "royalty" and expects respect. Despite his size, he does not back off if confronted. He can also be quite vocal if his meals are late or he feels unappreciated. He is often called "Little Prince" and is deeply loved by his human subjects.
