About Tika

Tika is an active, inquisitive six-year-old beagle who's always up for adventure. She explores constantly, stretches to reach items on tables, and can easily clear fences shorter than five feet, so a secure yard with a block wall all the way around is a must. Tika enjoys both indoor and outdoor life but will dash out any open door, so her next family must take care and should live in the Tucson area. She does best with adults and older children—homes with kids under six or anyone unsteady on their feet are not a good fit, as she's energetic and always moving. Tika gets along well with other dogs, especially those who can match her lively pace, but she does not mix with cats. She thrives on daily walks, loves car rides, and is solid on a leash. She's comfortable in a crate but only for a few hours due to separation anxiety. Potty training is covered when she has access to a doggie door. Tika is currently being treated for Valley Fever, for which she'll need long-term medication and regular vet checks to monitor her titer. She also takes daily Prednisolone for masticatory muscle myositis, which means she's hungry all the time—she'll sneak food from anywhere, including your hands, or another dog's bowl. Her adopter must commit to regular veterinary care to keep her conditions managed. Let’s find the right family for Tika to keep her busy and cared for. Your new best friend is just one click away.
