About Annika
Meet Annika, a small, bright-eyed mix of Chihuahua and Beagle who landed in Tucson from Yuma about six months ago. She’s taken time to open up—she used to stick close to the walls, keeping her distance, but with the steady care of her foster, Annika has slowly stepped out of her shell. She’s still shy in new environments and takes comfort in predictable routines, but her loyalty to her foster mom is unmistakable. At roughly 3.5 years old and a lean 15 pounds, Annika has picked up house training impressively well and settles quietly in her crate with no destructive habits. Annika gets along well with dogs of all ages and sizes and shares her home calmly with cats, too. She doesn’t show much interest in toys or playtime—at least not yet—but her gentle presence is a calming addition in any calm household. She’s still working on her confidence for walks on a leash, and her new family should expect to go slow and let Annika set her own pace. She’s looking for someone patient who understands that trust grows gradually. Meet-and-greets will be at her foster’s house in midtown Tucson so she can feel safest. What are you waiting for?
