About Diesel

Start your journey together! Apply now. Diesel is ready to find his loving forever home! This little chihuahua is a spry 10-year-old, weighing 8 lbs, who doesn’t let age slow him down—he keeps up easily with younger dogs and absolutely loves to be close to his person. As a true velcro dog, Diesel thrives on companionship but is equally happy as the only dog in the house. He’s dog-friendly and can be cat-tested upon request. Diesel is not yet fully house trained, though he’s working on it and wears belly bands like a pro. He’s comfortable in a crate and adapts well to routines. Previously, Diesel has been around children; however, due to occasional nippiness when frightened, homes with children 12 or older who can respect his space are best. Slow introductions to new people help him feel safe and secure. Diesel enjoys his daily walks and does not require a fenced yard, but safety comes first—he should always be leashed outdoors. He is fully vetted for one year, neutered, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. Diesel recently had a dental procedure with multiple extractions, so ongoing dental care is important for his health. He is a Libra, known for being affectionate and charming! If you're within an hour of Elkhart, Indiana, and ready to open your heart, Diesel is waiting to meet you. Please note: only applicants with dogs and cats that are spayed/neutered and up to date on core vaccines and preventatives will be considered, and electric/underground fences are not permitted. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
