3/16/2026- WELCOME CHOWDER (BACK) TO HEART! AND…………….. HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY! Chowder was adopted last year as a puppy. The family dynamic changed recently and Chowder’s needs could no longer be met. He came back Saturday, and today celebrates his 1st Birthday back in foster care. He will go to the vet for his health check, fecal and any vaccinations he may need after we get in touch with his previous vet. An Aussie mix should never be shaved, however he arrived with his coat shaved poorly. We are going to have him seen by a groomer to see if we can at least smooth it out and condition his coat nicely. We suspect this was due to matting, which is a sad thought. He is acclimating to a foster home with other dogs. He is very quick to want to play with a new dog, so he’s learning to control his impulses and be more polite meeting other animals. He is also learning basic commands and proving to love training and he’s very smart as we would expect. He also enjoys snuggles! Once the weather straightens up, we will work on his leash manners. He kennels very nicely and is potty trained! Woo hoo!! He was in a home with a younger child. He was introduced to a cat and did great! A very nice and super cute boy overall and once he settles in, will be a very loyal, playful and fun pet. He will need an active family who will give him the exercise he requires, and continued training. Chowder’s adoption fee is $300. Applications can be submitted at www.heartrescueteam.com.
