About Haven

Haven spent her first years on a breeding farm, but those days are behind her. Now five years old and weighing in at 13 lbs, this small Shih Tzu with her little snaggle tooth is hoping to find a new start. At first, Haven can be shy and may back away, but give her some gentle pets and she’ll begin to trust, relaxing into the affection and soon wanting more. She’s a soft-hearted, hopeful pup who just needs patience at the beginning. Her foster family reports that she’s settled in remarkably well. Even though the weather has kept her indoors lately, she’s eager to build her confidence outside. Haven has plenty of energy to burn and is happiest with an active person or family who’ll take her on walks and provide lots of snuggles. She will need another dog in the home—she draws comfort and confidence from canine companionship. Haven is looking for a home without young children (no kids under six), and adopters must be at least 24 years old. Only families in Wisconsin, Illinois, or parts of Minnesota are eligible.
