About Joplin
Joplin is a ten-year-old Shih Tzu with a bouncy spirit despite his senior status. Fresh out of breeder life, heās still discovering what it feels like to be a true companion. This fluffy, wavy-coated little dog weighs in around fifteen pounds and has large front paws that give him some extra personality. Joplin loves all things toysāchasing, shaking, and entertaining his people with his goofy antics. Heās not a fan of having his head touched but enjoys being petted otherwise. Heāll happily snooze on the bed with you but needs a gentle boost to hop up, and heāll sleep right through the night, even if others don't. Joplin is coming along well with house training, using the yard or walking on leash for most of his business. He can handle a couple of steps outside but hasnāt mastered a full flight yet. He walks briskly and could easily go farther than a half mile. Joplin thrives on companyāhe follows his foster mom everywhere, quietly keeping her in sight, and welcomes her with a wagging tail. Heās friendly with other dogs, enjoys napping and playing with them, and would love a canine buddy, though heād also bond closely if someoneās home most of the day. Joplin is good in the car, doesnāt tire easily on walks, loves food and treats, and isnāt above chasing his own tail when the mood strikes. He has some quirksālike shying from harness time, snoring, and sleeping on his backābut that only adds to his charm. Heās ready for a fresh chapter with an adopter who can offer patience and plenty of company. His foster says heās a sweet, good-natured friend whoās ready to bring joy into someone's life.
