Meet Paul, a senior survivor with a heart of gold and the kind of pet who reminds you what resilience looks like. This gentle, 50-pound boy survived a devastating house fire in Oklahoma, along with his four siblings, and had the burns along his backside to show for it (his fur has mostly grown back but he may always have a few patches that look thinner). He's now recovered and looking for a safe, new home. Paul radiates a quiet, grateful sweetness that makes you want to wrap him in a hug and protect him. Despite everything he’s been through, he's a happy, social, even-tempered guy, enjoys meeting new people, and has been trained on all the basic rules of life indoors, in a crate, in a car, and on leash. He’s friendly with other dogs, lived peacefully around cats in foster, and has that “old soul” gentleness that makes him a welcome guest in every room. Paul has been described as goofy, resilient, quiet, and eager to please, with a calm, engaged play style. He enjoys walks, playgroups, and a good cuddle session. He’s active enough to enjoy outings but settles easily into a comfortable lap too. Indoors, he’s a polite, easygoing companion who just wants to be near his human family. He'll fit seamlessly into most types of households, with or without other pets. And he'll inspire you every day to keep going, even when life feels overwhelming. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
