About Penny
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Penny is a sweet and affectionate Chihuahua who recently lost her lifelong owner, leaving her a bit sad and anxious. Despite this difficult transition, she quickly formed a close bond with her foster mom—she really loves women and showers her people with kisses, snuggles, and enjoys sitting on laps or on the backrest of the couch. Penny absolutely adores sleeping in bed with her person and finds comfort in closeness. While she can spend some time alone, she would thrive with someone who’s home often or can bring her along for outings, as she does great in the car! Initially insecure, Penny tends to stick by her person, but once she feels safe, her playful and adventurous spirit shines. She loves to play, chase after lizards, and hop excitedly after moths and flies. Penny enjoys being active, whether that means going for walks, hikes, or hanging out at a coffee shop. She has gotten along well with everyone she's met so far, although she hasn’t been around children yet and would likely do best in a home with older kids or adults. Penny is comfortable with other dogs, but she prefers people and would be happy as the only pet—she is not a fan of cats. This 12lb, 6-year-old Chihuahua may act much younger thanks to her sporty nature and enthusiasm. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, in great overall health, and keeps a healthy weight even though she can be selective about food. Penny dislikes crates and will break out if confined, but she’s trustworthy with free roam in the house. She whines a little when her humans leave but soon settles down on the couch and is fully housebroken and non-destructive. Penny is ready to find a forever family to love and trust. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
