About Pearl
Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet Pearl: she's part English Bulldog, part champion snuggler, and 100% packed with personality! Since arriving at Detroit Bulldog Rescue as a one-year-old with a rough past, Pearl has flourished into a curious, golden stunner with plenty of spunk and charm. At just 30lbs, she loves to stay close—whether it’s curling up beside you or keeping a quiet watch over whatever you’re doing. Get ready to hear her signature "pterodactyl" screech if she's startled; it's absolutely hilarious and totally unique! Pearl has been vetted, spayed, and cleared by the rescue’s veterinarian. She has no ongoing medical concerns and is known for her impressive athletic ability—jumping fences, sofas, and anything else that might cross her path! She prefers life as a "homebody," enjoying relaxed days on the couch, car rides, and movie marathons instead of busy walks or hikes. While she’s house trained and easygoing at home, Pearl is best as an only dog. She’s managed to live with another dog with careful training, but still has unpredictable outbursts, so responsible introductions and supervision are crucial. Pearl’s leash manners are progressing, but she needs a patient, firm adopter to help her with ongoing training and to give her appropriate direction during her bursts of energy. Her foster family loves her dearly, and Pearl is finally ready to find her soulmate to "soul-stare" at forever. This sweet and silly girl can't wait for her second chance with a family who understands her special quirks—and perhaps doesn’t mind an expert farter in the house! Your new best friend is just one click away.
