Colsen is a 5 month old Maltese/Poodle mix puppy who came to CAMO with 20 other dogs that were surrendered by an elderly gentleman who was unable to take care of them anymore. Colsen was very fear aggressive when he first got to this foster home but over the last 6 weeks he has slowly learned to trust and is becoming more confident with the world around him with each passing day. He is still scared of being picked up and will come to his foster family only his terms. He is really making progress and we don't believe that he will always be this fearful. With time, patience and encouragement, Colsen will learn to completely trust his environment and be more confident with humans. He does great with other dogs and tends to follow their lead. He is definitely more confident with a buddy by his side and therefore will only be adopted into a home with another outgoing, friendly and playful companion to show him the ropes. He sleeps in a crate or in bed with his foster and is content to do either. He loves to eat and is food motivated. He is also completely house trained in his foster home, but new surrounding can often require a bit of time to learn, so expect maybe a few accidents. Colsen has received all of his puppy vaccines and will be neutered, microchipped and receive his rabies vaccine at around 6-7 months of age. We will be looking for a very specific home for Colsen and are hoping we can find the perfect fit for his needs. We can't wait to see him blossom into his happiest and most confident self! Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs.
