Gus is 3 years old and around 66 lbs. His intake notes say his home burned down and he was found wandering the area without a place to go. He's now been at the shelter for over 26 days, which shows just how good of a boy he's been. Volunteers describe Gus as a beautiful guy with two different colored eyes and the biggest grin on his face. His tail never seems to stop wagging. On leash he's calm and happy just to be outside, enjoying the fresh air. He's friendly with other dogs, gentle when taking treats, and loves attention. One volunteer said when she leaned down to pet him, he covered her in kisses. Another volunteer shared that when she first reached toward him with a treat he flinched and crouched down, like life hadn't always been kind to him. But when she calmly sat on the ground and gave him space, Gus walked right over and tucked his big head under her arm so she could hold him while he leaned in for pets. Please help us give Gus that chance.
