Hi, I’m Shakespeare! I’m a 1½-year-old Lab mix weighing about 55 pounds, and I’m a sweet, loyal boy with a big heart for my people. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter down south and given a second chance, and now I’m thriving in my foster home in Adrian, Michigan while I wait for my forever family. Once I feel safe and comfortable, my affectionate personality really shines. I love being close to my people and will happily roll over for belly rubs anytime you’re willing to give them. I enjoy heading outside to take care of business and stretch my legs with a few laps around the yard, but after that I’m perfectly content relaxing nearby and soaking up attention. I’ve settled nicely into my foster home routine and do best with gentle guidance and clear structure. I’m respectful in the home and eager to please. I get along well with other dogs and have also done well with cats. With my gentle nature, I would likely do just fine with children too. I have a wonderful mix of playful energy and calm companionship, and my favorite place to be is simply wherever my people are. I’m fully vetted — neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.
