About W Amber
1-year-old Amber is a sensitive girl who doesn't handle sudden change well. Coming into a busy, noisy shelter was clearly traumatic for her, and she needed time and space to decompress. As you can see in her video, once she was given patience and a calm environment, she came around beautifully—but it didn't happen overnight. When Amber was recently adopted and then returned, we learned two very important things about what she needs to thrive: Time & Patience Amber will need a gentle, understanding adopter who can give her the time she needs to adjust to a new home. She may hide at first—possibly for a week or two—and that's okay. We strongly recommend starting her in a small, quiet room (like a bathroom or laundry room) so she can feel safe and secure, not abedroom where she will just go under the bed. We are happy to work with adopters and offer guidance to help make her transition as smooth as possible. A Feline Friend Amber seems to really enjoy the company of other cats. An ideal home would have a calm, laid-back, non-aggressive cat companion. She can be a little dominant, so a super easygoing kitty would be best. As with any introduction, she'll need an adjustment period. With Amber, it's all about patience, kindness, and understanding. Her past was likely difficult, but she has amazing potential. Once she feels safe and learns to trust you, she shows her loving, playful personality—and it's truly worth the wait
