About Santorini

Hi. Yes. Hello. It’s me — Santorini. Named after a dreamy sunshine island, blessed with good looks, a suspicious amount of intelligence, and what scientists are now referring to as an endless supply of optimism. If life were a vacation brochure, I would be the cover photo. Blue skies, happy vibes, warm sunshine, and a small fuzzy tour guide who believes every single person she meets has arrived specifically to adore her. I’m the kind of pup who can zoom around the yard like a tiny vacation jet ski, then immediately transition into professional-level snuggling like it’s my full-time career. Work hard, nap harder — it’s about balance. I’m just a happy little ray of sunshine with a wiggly tail, a heart full of love, and the strong belief that every day is a good day to play, cuddle, and convince humans that puppies are the greatest invention of all time. I’m an 11-week-old, 14-pound female Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever mix, which means I come from a long line of majestic floofs and professional best friends. The Pyr side of me says, “I shall nobly watch over my kingdom,” while the Golden side says, “Excellent. Let’s guard it with enthusiasm, wiggles, and possibly a tennis ball.” It’s a very balanced system. My siblings and I found ourselves in a bit of a situation when we suddenly needed somewhere safe to land. Thankfully, some very kind humans stepped in and reached out to PPFT’s Fluffy Butt Program, and before you could say “extra large puppy paws incoming,” I had a spot in rescue and a fresh start. How do I get along with other dogs? Oh, I’m excellent at networking, thank you for asking. I currently live with both a puppy brother and a fully grown dog, and I’ve decided they are very important members of my social circle. I approach them politely, introduce myself, and then immediately suggest we move on to more important matters — like playing, cuddling, or following them around to see what they’re doing. The official report from my foster home says I’m playful and cuddly with both dogs, which feels accurate. I enjoy a good round of puppy games, but I also appreciate the fine art of snuggling up next to a dog buddy like we’re lifelong companions who’ve known each other since… well… this morning. Cats? Ah yes. The mysterious tiny house tigers. Unfortunately, I have not yet had the privilege of meeting one in person. My likely approach would be something along the lines of: “Hello small fuzzy creature. You appear interesting. Are we friends? No? Okay I will sit over here and continue being adorable until you reconsider.” Children, you say? Yes, I have in fact conducted field research on this topic. Specifically with teenagers, which I’ve learned are basically just taller puppies with phones. When my foster’s nieces came over, I did what any polite, well-mannered puppy would do — I approached them, introduced myself, and then politely suggested we begin the important activities of playing and loving on me immediately. They seemed to understand the assignment. I’m also what the professionals call a dual-purpose puppy. I can participate in active games — toys, playing, general joyful shenanigans — but I also excel in the highly specialized sport of cuddling. So if someone sits down for approximately three seconds, there is a very strong chance I will wander over and attempt to snuggle up like a fluffy emotional support pillow. It’s a gift, really. Energy level? I’ve been given an 8 out of 10. What that means in practical terms is that I wake up each day ready to experience life with gusto. I enjoy playing, exploring the yard, investigating toys, and generally making sure nothing exciting happens without me being involved. If there’s a game happening, I’m in. If there’s a toy available, I’m interested. If someone throws a ball, well obviously that’s my moment. But let’s not get carried away and assume I’m some kind of unstoppable whirlwind. I also fully appreciate the value of snuggle breaks and strategic naps. After a proper round of puppy activities — running around, playing with the other dogs, supervising the household — I’m more than happy to collapse next to my humans like a fluffy little heating pad and recharge. Basically, I operate on a very balanced system: Play hard, love hard, nap hard. Am I an adventure seeker or a homebody? I am what you might call a well-rounded lifestyle puppy. I enjoy adventure, exploration, and important puppy activities like running around the yard, investigating leaves, and playing with toys like they personally offended me. If there’s something fun happening, I would absolutely like to be involved. I’m curious, playful, and equipped with plenty of puppy energy, so the idea of getting out, exploring, and doing things sounds great to me. But — and this is important — I am also deeply committed to the art of being a loving little companion. After the adventure portion of the day has concluded, I am more than happy to return home, curl up next to my people, and transform into a professional-grade snuggle machine. My overall temperament? Basically, my personality can be summarized as: Happy. Loving. Smart. Playful. Optimistic. Or, as I like to call it: “A very delightful puppy who believes the world is a pretty great place and intends to enjoy every minute of it.” 🐾 Would I do best with a fenced yard, or could I handle apartment life with regular walks? The answer is I’m flexible, but there is one small detail we should discuss — I do, in fact, come with puppy energy. In a perfect world, a securely fenced yard would be lovely. However, I’m not some kind of delicate garden ornament that only functions in one specific environment. With regular walks, playtime, and things to keep my clever little brain busy, I could absolutely do well in other living situations too. Because here’s the thing: I’m smart, playful, and curious. That energy has to go somewhere. Preferably into walks, play sessions, learning new things, and general wholesome puppy activities… and not into me inventing my own entertainment. Trust me, you want to be in charge of the entertainment plan. So really, what I need most isn’t a specific type of home — it’s people who are ready to keep up with a happy, active puppy and help me use all that enthusiasm in good ways. Let’s talk about house manners, which is really just a polite way of saying: I am a baby and you are the responsible adult in this situation. Potty training? That’s a team sport. Puppy-proofing the house so I don’t accidentally discover that your favorite shoes are apparently a chew toy? Also your department. Socialization, training, and helping me learn all the important life skills that turn adorable puppies into wonderful adult dogs? Yep… that’s on you too. You handle the life lessons. I’ll handle being adorable. 🐾 Anyway, now that we’ve covered my many wonderful qualities — my charm, my intelligence, my professional-level snuggling abilities, and my overall commitment to being a delightful member of society — the obvious next step is for you to adopt me. Now here’s the part where we discuss how this works, because apparently I cannot simply pack a tiny suitcase and show up at your door (something about “procedures” and “being a responsible rescue”). If you want to adopt me — and honestly, why wouldn’t you — you’ll need to fill out an adoption application. I know, paperwork. But the nice rescue people at Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails insist on it so they can send your application to my foster family and make sure we’re a perfect match. Bureaucracy is exhausting, but I’m worth it. Once everything checks out, you’ll get to come pick me up in Edmond, Oklahoma. Yes, you will need to physically travel there to retrieve your new fluffy best friend. I will not be teleporting, parachuting, or arriving via puppy delivery drone. So go ahead — fill out the application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app, impress the nice humans who are in charge, and come meet me. I’ll be here in the meantime, being adorable, playing with toys, and patiently waiting for my forever humans to get their paperwork together. Santorini 🐾
