A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Pickle Pickle is a 3-year-old Red Heeler / Bully mix who is looking for a fresh start after losing the person he loved most. When his owner passed away, Pickle suddenly found himself without the home he had always known. Through no fault of his own, this loyal 70-pound boy had to start over and begin life again somewhere new. Despite everything he’s been through, Pickle has remained a sweet and devoted dog who bonds closely with his people. He’s the kind of dog who likes to stay nearby, quietly following you from room to room just to keep you company. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or moving around the house, Pickle is happiest simply being close to his person. Pickle enjoys the simple things in life like snacks, a comfortable bed, and chasing a ball around the yard. He’s enthusiastic about playtime and loves to run after a thrown ball, though bringing it back is still a work in progress. He also knows how to sit and is always hopeful that good behavior might come with a treat. Pickle does well with other dogs. He was not a fan of the cats he met at the shelter, but in his current foster home he has been improving around them with supervision. Because of this, a home without cats or with slow, careful introductions would likely be best for him. Right now Pickle is safe in a foster home in Georgia, patiently waiting and hoping someone in Wisconsin will give him the chance to be part of a family again. After losing the only home he knew, he deserves a place where he can feel secure, loved, and home for good.
