They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Lily is a striking Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix, estimated to be about a year old. She was discovered as a stray during a bitter winter storm and quickly showed her affectionate side by seeking warmth with caring humans. While Lily's original family did not come forward for her, their loss is someone else's gain, as she is truly a special companion. Weighing 54 pounds, Lily has a friendly, engaging nature and gets along well with dogs, cats, and older children. She is comfortable in her kennel and loves nothing more than stretching her legs running around the yard, displaying her playful spirit. Lily will thrive in a household that can provide her with ample exercise and continued affection. Meet and greets are arranged for approved adopters at our New Berlin adoption center, and a Martingale collar is required at the time of adoption to keep her safe during the transition to her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, and comes with several veterinary protections to ensure a healthy start. Breed listings are based on the best available information and can't be guaranteed. How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This breed requires ample outdoor space, ideally a large yard or pasture, to accommodate their high energy and need for regular activity. Daily exercise and opportunities to run are important for their mental and physical well-being.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Australian Cattle Dogs can be suitable for homes with older children, especially those who understand how to interact respectfully with energetic dogs. Supervision is recommended, particularly with younger kids, due to the breedโs herding instincts.
