SATURDAY, MAY 16 from 12-3PM: DOG ADOPTION EVENT at the OLATHE PETSMART at 119th & Strang Line with volunteers from Heart of America Humane Society. We'll have several wonderful dogs there looking for homes! ——————— PRINCESS was left behind in a backyard with her puppies when her owner moved away. Thanks to a neighbor that said something she and her puppies were brought to safety. And Princess didn’t let that hard chapter change her sweet, loving heart. She took amazing care of her babies, and now it’s finally her turn to be the one getting all the love. Princess is basically a walking bundle of love with zero concept of personal space (in the best way). If you sit down, she’s there. If you’re standing, she’s leaning. If you’re breathing… she’s ready for pets. She’s super friendly, loves people, and soaks up attention like it’s her full-time job. Princess is also great with other dogs and has that easygoing, happy-go-lucky vibe that makes her such an easy girl to love. Princess does have a little bit of sass to go with all that sweetness—she can be pretty vocal in her kennel (think dramatic Frenchie-style sound effects ), so a house might be a better fit than an apartment. She will also need a kitty free home. All she’s missing now is a couch to claim and a person who will never leave her behind again. Princess is a 2 year old Pit Bull Mix and she weighs 60 lbs. ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
