Who can resist a wrinkly-foreheaded puppy? Bruce is what's known as a Sato, an island dog from Puerto Rico. We have had many Satos in our shelter by now, and we love how they have such resilience and gentle spirits. Bruce made his way to the mainland thanks to one of our rescue partners there. He was cared for by an experienced Sato foster mom for the last couple of weeks and is now onsite and ready for his forever family on the mainland! Unlike many busy puppies, Bruce has a calm and tender personality. He's a quiet, observant little guy who prefers cuddles over chaos and will happily curl up beside you for naps and cozy evenings. His soft eyes and gentle nature make him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a peaceful best friend. He enjoys exploring the backyard at his own pace, soaking up affection, and staying close to his people. Like all young puppies, he's still learning the basics - potty training, leash walking, and puppy manners - but Satos are wonderfully smart and adaptable, and he's eager to learn with kind guidance and positive reinforcement. Satos are known for forming strong bonds with their families, and Bruce is already showing what a devoted companion he'll become. Bruce's adoption fee is $450. This animal is spayed/neutered, and is up to date on core vaccines appropriate for their age. They will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age at the adopter's own vet. Since he is a puppy, any adopter should anticipate needing to work on housebreaking and other training using positive reinforcement training only.
