About Birdie

Meet Birdie! This young Cane Corso mix has irresistible puppy eyes and a huge heart. At just 4 months, Birdie landed in rescue undersocialized and wary of people and dogs, shaped by a bumpy start no puppy should have. Since settling into foster care, she’s finally letting her sweet, goofy side show. Structure, consistency, and guidance have helped Birdie shake off some of her initial fear. She’s learning how to play gently with other pups and working on her people skills, too. Smart and eager, Birdie already knows basic commands and looks forward to her training sessions—praise fans her confidence. She’s house trained, sleeps all night, and has plenty of drive and personality. Birdie’s still working through reactivity and needs clear leadership to manage her guardian-breed instincts, but she improves steadily. She needs an experienced, dedicated person—someone who recognizes what makes guardian breeds tick and is fully committed to her training and socialization. In the right home, Birdie promises steady adventure, strong loyalty, and a ton of love. Birdie is currently in Turlock, CA. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Birdie

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Birdie, as a Cane Corso/mixed breed, thrives in a home where she has plenty of space and stability. Guardian breeds like hers do best in environments with clear structure, ideally with a secure yard and confident leadership.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Birdie will benefit from access to a securely fenced yard to roam and exercise safely. Cane Corso mixes tend to do well with regular outside time, but always need supervision and boundaries.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

While some Cane Corso mixes can do well with respectful, dog-savvy children, Birdie’s current socialization progress and breed traits mean she’ll do best in a home that understands and can manage guardian breeds around kids.
