Meet Shawna These sweet girls are Shawna (bottom) and Tara (white nose) both 11 weeks old and believed to be Pit / Mastiff mixes. While puppies are usually bouncing off the walls, these two are actually very relaxed and calm little ladies. They are a bit timid, shy, and nervous right now as they adjust to all the new sights, sounds, and people around them. Because they’re still unsure of the world, they will need patient families who will give them time to build confidence and help them learn that life can be safe and full of love. Slow introductions to resident dogs will be important, simply because they can be a little scared at first. The good news is they have already done well around a small dog and even cats, which is a great sign for these little ones. At 11 weeks old, this is such an important age for them to learn, grow, and build trust. The families who bring them home will play a huge role in helping them become confident, well-adjusted dogs. And remember… while they’re small and adorable right now, these girls will grow into big, beautiful dogs, so adopters should be prepared for that commitment.
