About Lemmy
Meet #Lemmy Lemmy has been with us for about a week now, and his story is one we see far too often… an owner surrender who suddenly found himself in a loud, unfamiliar shelter with no explanation and no understanding of what happened to the life he knew. When Lemmy first arrived, he was confused and overwhelmed. He had a lot of pent-up energy and emotions. He was a little jumpy, a little nippy at times, and clearly overstimulated by all the barking and chaos that comes with being in an overcrowded shelter. It’s a lot for any dog to process , especially when their whole world has just changed overnight. But now… a few days later… Lemmy mostly just sits quietly in his kennel. And honestly… it breaks our hearts. You can tell he’s missing his people. The excitement has faded and now there’s just this quiet sadness in his eyes as he waits and watches the volunteers walk by. Despite everything, Lemmy has shown us what a good boy he really is: He keeps his kennel very clean He is not a big barker, only speaking up when he needs to go outside He walks beautifully on a leash In the yard he tends to just follow you around, wanting to stay close He has gone nose-to-nose with a female dog and did well And can we talk about how handsome he is? Seriously… this boy is a looker. Lemmy is around 50–55 pounds of sweet, loyal dog just waiting for someone to give him the second chance he deserves. We truly believe Lemmy hasn’t even had the chance to fully decompress yet. Shelter life is confusing and overwhelming, but with a patient family and a calm home, we know his real personality will start to shine again. No dog should have to sit in a kennel wondering why their life changed. Lemmy deserves to feel safe again. To belong again. To be someone’s dog again. Please help us get Lemmy seen SHARE this post.
