About Mulder
03/09/26 13:25 Two ~1 year old terrier mixes (1403319 male intact) and (1403320 female intact) with diffuse generalized dermatitis suggestive of generalized demodecosis with secondary superficial pyoderma (bacterial skin infection). No mites were seen on a skin scrape, however, mites are not always recovered on skin scrapes as they bury deep. Both dogs were given Nexgard to treat the mites, and started on a 2 week course of antibiotics for the secondary skin infection (cefpodoxime). In need of urgent resuce due to dermatitis that will likely take 4-6 weeks, minimally, to completely resolve.
