URGENT FOSTER OR HOME NEEDED FOR CAIRO, MEDS WILL BE COVERED 🐾 Meet Cairo — A Sweet 5-Year-Old Bohemian Shepherd Looking for a Loving Home 🐾 This handsome 5-year-old, 70 lb Bohemian Shepherd has a heart full of love and just wants to be close to his people. A nice couple took him in about 6 months ago when his previous owners were planning to surrender him to a shelter, and they couldn’t let that happen. He’s fully housebroken, great with cats, and friendly with other dogs. He has a great recall, and while he tends to pull a bit on the leash during walks (he just gets excited!), he’s otherwise easy to handle. He’s still learning good leash manners but loves his walks and will listen to commands. Cairo is a laid-back, affectionate cuddle buddy who absolutely loves being pet and spending time with his humans. He can be shy at first around new people but he has never shown aggression. He just prefers gentle handling and time to warm up. Cairo was diagnosed with diabetes on December 24, 2025, and needs two insulin shots a day (8 units every 12 hours) and constant access to water. He eats diabetic-friendly food and is stable—he does not need frequent glucose testing. Cairo can be a bit territorial with his food and toys, but that’s easy to manage with boundaries. He does best with indestructible toys since he loves to chew! He’s also long-haired, so he’ll need occasional grooming. Cairo prefers not to be left alone for long periods. He thrives in a calm home where someone is around most of the time or can give him a predictable routine and reassurance. Cairo, is a sweet, loyal, and gentle dog who just wants love and companionship.
