About Stanley
Meet Stanley - our tiny survivor with a big story. Right before Thanksgiving, this 12-year-old Yorkie gentleman was found wandering as a stray in heartbreaking condition - emaciated, severely dehydrated, matted, battling raging pneumonia, and barely hanging on. For a while, it was truly touch and go. But thanks to an incredible team of veterinary partners and a whole lot of determination, Stanley pulled through and has transformed into the sweetest little old man. Huge thanks to HCPRC, Hickory Hill Veterinary Services, Harmony Vet Care, the St. Pete College Veterinary Technology Program, and the Blue Pearl Cardiology team for helping save this tiny life. Stanley may be a survivor, but he is still very much a senior gentleman. He has cataracts, is hard of hearing (and seeing), has some arthritis, a heart murmur, and his kidney values are just barely elevated - something we've been able to keep stable with good care. He's currently not on any medications, but maintaining a high-quality diet and supportive supplements will be important to keep him feeling his best. He'll be having a dental on March 19 with Dr. Sabshin at Harmony Vet Care, and once he recovers, Stanley will officially be ready to move out and find his forever retirement home. Stanley doesn't need much - just a safe, loving place where a little old man can live life at his own pace. His perfect home is one where he can stay close to his people, enjoy good meals, take plenty of naps, and spend quiet moments sniffing around the yard or soaking up the sunshine on a supervised stroll. After everything he's been through, Stanley deserves the softest landing possible. If you have room in your heart (and your lap) for a sweet senior gentleman, Stanley would love to meet you.
