Meet Kya (formerly Lily)! Kya first joined us in late 2024 as part of a large group of dogs who made the journey from Norman to Oregon in search of brighter futures. Shortly after arriving, she was adopted and settled into a loving home. Over time, however, her adopter realized that due to an increasingly busy work schedule, some of Kya's needs weren't being fully met. Wanting the very best for her, the difficult but loving decision was made to help her find a home better suited to her personality and pace. Kya is an adorable smaller medium-sized girl with a gentle spirit and so much potential. She thrives on connection and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day - a calm, patient presence who can offer reassurance, structure, and lots of love as she continues to blossom. It only takes her a day to warm up to her new person/people before she's playing and doing zoomies! She can be a little much for cats in the home or smaller dogs who are not too interested in playing, so dogs closer to her size who would want a play buddy would be best. She would especially benefit from living with one or two older, friendly, and confident dogs who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. Kya takes comfort in canine companionship and learns beautifully by example. With the right role models and a nurturing environment, she truly begins to shine. Kya isn't a "plug and play" pup - she's the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her people and needs a home committed to helping her feel safe, secure, and understood.
