Meet Matthew (but you can call me Matt)! Matt was left outside a vet clinic in a tiny carrier with a note. But those sad days are in the past nothing but UP from here!! I’m basically a teenager… about 2 years old, full of personality, and ready to find my forever family. My rescue family thinks I’m a mix of Boxer, Beagle, Boston Terrier , some lowrider breed like a Dachshound or Basset hound … lol .. basically everything !! If you’re looking for a loyal dog to be by your side, I’m your guy. I love the simple things in life—sleeping in the sunshine, chewing on my bones (not your stuff!), and playing with my favorite Lamb Chop toy… which still has its squeaker! I also love to run around the yard, so be prepared—I might challenge you to keep up with me. The good news? I’m a very good boy. ✔️ Walk well on a leash ✔️ Potty trained ✔️ Love sleeping on the bed with my people ✔️ Enjoy car rides I’ll even protect you while you sleep thanks to my keen hearing. And here’s something special about me—I’m bilingual! I can bark and softly howl (that’s the Beagle side of me talking). I’m still learning tricks and working on trusting that my humans will come back when they leave. I had a tough start after being abandoned, so I’d do best with someone who is home often and can help me feel safe and loved. I’m sweet, affectionate, love hugs, and you can even pick me up. I get along with other dogs, and I don’t mind cats… although sometimes they’re not very interested in playing. Most of all, I just want someone to love me. My name is Matthew, and I’m pretty amazing.
