If you’ve ever wondered what happens when someone accidentally installs a race car engine inside a Labrador, allow us to introduce you to Jacey. At around 2 years old and a stunning purebred black Lab, Jacey is everything people love about the breed — happy, affectionate, people-loving, and always ready for the next adventure. She adores everyone she meets, is fantastic with kids, and does well with other dogs (though she seems to like male dogs most). But let’s talk about Jacey’s true superpower: ENERGY!!!! And when we say energy… we mean GO GO GO 24/7. Jacey likely came from hunting lines and we wouldn’t be surprised if she was originally bred with that purpose in mind. She is not gun shy, has a strong prey drive, and has already informed us that geese and ducks are absolutely her business. Because of this, she will not do well in a home with cats. Right now we’re working on helping Jacey learn that life has something called an “off switch.” (She is currently skeptical that such a thing exists.) To help her succeed, she will be starting training this week with the incredible trainers at Camo Dog Trainer to provide structure, expectations, and guidance. What Jacey needs most is the right home: -A very active family -A fenced yard where she can run and burn energy -People who enjoy hiking, running, training, or outdoor adventures -Continued structure and consistency with training What she is NOT looking for: -Apartment living - A sedentary lifestyle - A home with cats Jacey is potty trained, crate trained, and fully vetted — she just needs a family that understands that some Labradors are built more like marathon runners than couch potatoes. With the right home, guidance, and outlets for her energy, Jacey is going to be an incredible companion for someone who wants a dog that’s always ready to go.
