About Shelby

Shelby came to the rescue after someone found her and her puppies living under an abandoned house. While another group placed her puppies, Shelby moved into shelter care to heal from postpartum and get ready for home life—inside, not outside. She’s a spayed, two-year-old lab/shepherd mix with a sleek black coat and an easygoing, short-haired look. Right now, she’s undergoing treatment for heartworm, which isn’t contagious; she just needs to take it easy and stay calm over the next couple of months. Shelby isn’t house trained yet but is making progress. The rescue would love a patient foster or foster-to-adopt home willing to help her recover and settle into a real family routine. Due to safety and policy, Animal Alliance does not adopt adult dogs to households with children under nine. Shelby is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and protected against fleas and ticks. While she needs a bit more structure and care during her recovery, she’s ready for a new chapter indoors and treated like family. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
