Waylon is an affectionate 6-8 year old, 12 pound boy who loves people of all ages and gets along with most dogs when introductions are handled calmly. He’s house-trained to go outside, adores antlers and toys, shows no resource guarding, and loves to be cradled on his back for belly rubs like a baby. Waylon is building confidence and trust while working through his separation anxiety, so he’s best matched with someone who can offer predictable routines, gradual departures, and positive reinforcement to help him feel secure. He loves to be around his person/people but doesn’t always need to be touching you; he wants to see you and be part of whatever you are doing. He does very well with another dog who is calm and relaxed. Waylon will be a devoted companion for a family or individual who includes him in daily life and commits to continuing his confidence-building and separation training. The best home for Waylon will be someone who is retired or works remotely. Waylon has not been tested with cats but has been around a older child. Waylon is scheduled for a dental cleaning, neuter and all is age related vaccines the week of March 16th.
