About Cody
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Cody's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Cody, a 1-year-and-10 months-old Cane Corso mix, weighing 37 pounds (as of 3/9/26). Cody had rough beginnings in Tennessee where a hoarder reached out to us to take him in or he would be euthanized. This boy is still young and full of life and deserves a chance! We know he'll find the perfect fur-ever family! Before moving in with his foster's, Cody lived in a 10 x 10 and hardly got out, so he's grateful to finally be inside where he can have all the love in the world. He won't even care if you have a creepy porcelain doll collection in your home, a house is a still a house to him. Cody is the most loving boy who's wonderful with all dogs. While he’s not really interested in playing, he'll humor them every once in a while. When he's not helping you look into your doll obsession, you can find him wandering around his foster's fenced yard for some Vitamin D. He hopes his future family has a yard and loves exploring the great outdoors 'cause this pup wants to see everything! He's great on a leash and while he hasn't met kids or cats yet, he's friendly to everyone, so he hopes they'll like him! Cody isn't a fan of crates and prefers to sleep in his doggie bed. He won't bother anything because he knows all the weird knick knacks in your home are still precious to you. How thoughtful! Medical Disclosure: Cody recently underwent surgery for a recurring rectal prolapse and is on a special diet until he can adjust to regular food again. His recovery is going well, but he hopes his future family will continue to support his health journey when it comes to accidents in the house. We think once he's fully healed, he'll be able to quickly learn potty training. We're rooting for you Cody! Don't buy another creepy doll at the thrift store! Come and adopt sweet Cody instead! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
