About Swartz

Swartz is a quiet, soulful young hound mix who’s just starting to come into his own at 1.5 years old. He arrived from a difficult background, removed from a hoarding situation along with dozens of other animals, and was terrified of nearly everything in those early days—leashes, new people, the feeling of hands. Over time, Swartz has made real progress. He now seeks connection, shyly but purposefully, and welcomes affection. He’s made friends with toys and finds comfort lying close by, often stretched across your feet as you relax. Living with his foster’s dogs, cats, and even a macaw, Swartz gets along beautifully with everyone. He plays in the yard, walks calmly on a leash, and has picked up good habits like going potty outside, though he is still working towards being fully house trained. Because of his sensitive, soft nature and past, Swartz must go to a home with a confident dog companion who can help him keep learning how to thrive. His gentle manner and loving heart will be a gift to a patient adopter prepared to let him set the pace. Swartz is neutered, up to date with vaccines, heartworm tested, and microchipped—ready to start a new life. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
