Duke
AvailableDuke is a young male terrier mix with a small build and a short, red-orange coat. He’s neutered, vaccinated, and fully housetrained. Duke is currently in Knightsen, CA and would be a wonderful companion for a calm, quiet household.
About Duke
Duke spent months on the run, naturally wary after dodging cars and people out on the streets. Once rescued, he adjusted to home life and relaxed into a routine: curl up on the couch, play in the yard, and enjoy the company of other dogs. Duke is a terrier mix around one or two years old, petite at about 15 lbs with a short, red-orange coat and an endearing smile that shows off his little 'toofers.' He warms up once he trusts new faces but prefers a calm home—one with no young kids and peaceful vibes suits him best. The company of another dog (or even a cat) brings out his playful side, but he still appreciates his quiet time. Duke is housetrained and sleeps soundly in his kennel. Walking on a leash is still a work in progress for him, especially around traffic, but he’s getting better. He does best with a harness, as collars make him uneasy. Car rides can be stressful for Duke, likely a holdover from his time fending for himself outdoors. Duke’s adoption fee is sponsored, and he’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on medical care. By the way, his early February birthday makes him an Aquarius—no wonder he’s a little quirky and sensitive. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Duke, as a small terrier mix, loves having access to a safe yard to play and relax. Regular time outdoors for play is important, but he doesn't require a large property.
