About Tom

Tom is a handsome boy with a gentle soul. He can be a little quiet and shy when meeting new visitors, but once he warms up to you, his sweet personality truly shines. Tom loves nothing more than sitting by your side and keeping you company-it's where he's happiest. Tom has lived with other cats and dogs before, and with a slow, thoughtful introduction, he would likely do well with other pets in his new home. He has also been around kids and has done well with them. When it's playtime, Tom's favorite toys are the ones that roll so he can chase them across the floor. Watching him happily bat and run after them is sure to make you smile. If you're looking for a quiet companion who will be your loyal sidekick once he gets to know you, Tom might be the perfect match. The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Ready to Adopt?
