About Shep
Shep is a four-year-old Aussie Doodle searching for a more active household, ideally with a fenced yard. He’s lived his whole life indoors with his original family, who are still fostering him until he finds his next home. Shep is sharp, athletic, and has a lot of energy—he’ll need daily walks and play to stay happy. He loves people and does especially well with children and most dogs. He currently shares his home with another dog, and they keep each other busy. Shep’s leash manners are solid, and he’s both house and crate trained; he often uses his crate as a retreat when he needs to unwind. Shep does have a few quirks: his Aussie instincts sometimes come out as resource guarding, but it’s manageable with consistency. He’s independent at times but always loyal to his people. He’s best in a home without cats—they’re just too tempting for him to chase. Shep is playful, affectionate, and smart, weighing in at 50 lbs with a wire coat in striking blue-gray tones. He’s been fully vetted and is neutered. His current owners want to ensure he lands somewhere his high spirits and intelligence get the attention they deserve. If you’re looking for a fun, lively dog who’s left puppyhood behind but still has plenty of life ahead, Shep’s a strong fit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
