Food: hydrolyzed protein Franco's story could have started very differently - but thankfully, someone saw what we see in him every day: a dog absolutely full of life. Franco came into rescue after being left at a veterinary clinic due to concerns about his skin. Fortunately, the veterinary team took one look at this sweet, expressive boy and knew he deserved a real chance. They contacted rescue right away, and from the moment Franco arrived, he has shown us exactly who he is. At heart, Franco is still very much a puppy. He loves toys, adores his people, and when he's at home he transforms into one of the biggest snuggly teddy bears you could imagine. His soulful eyes and affectionate personality make it impossible not to fall in love with him. Franco also enjoys getting out and about. He's a great road trip companion and is always happy to join his people for errands or adventures. Around the house, he likes to keep busy - sometimes that means proudly carrying a toy from room to room, and occasionally it even means picking up a stray weight and strolling through the house with it like part of his personal fitness routine. Whether it's typical bulldog behavior or not, Franco is fully committed to his wellness program. Recently Franco had a big day at the vet where he was neutered and also had his nares and palate corrected to help him breathe more comfortably. With those procedures behind him, he is now ready to begin the next chapter of his life in a forever home. Like many English Bulldogs, Franco does have sensitive skin that will likely require ongoing management. He is currently on an antibiotic regimen paired with weekly medicated baths, and we are already seeing great improvements. His ideal adopter will be someone familiar with bulldogs or comfortable continuing his skin care routine so he can keep feeling his best. Franco does well with other dogs and has also been good with children. However, he can get excited and tends to jump, so children in the home should be sturdy on their feet. Franco hasn't quite figured out how big he is - but his enthusiasm and affection are all part of his charm. What Franco does understand perfectly is love. He is affectionate, playful, loyal, and ready to share his enormous heart with a family of his own. If you're looking for a bulldog who will keep you smiling, keep you company on adventures, and curl up beside you at the end of the day, Franco may be the perfect all current pets in the home must be spay or neutered as well as up-to-date on all immunizations and on monthly flea tick and heartworm prevention. Application submitted with pets in the home but no vet information will be declined and will need to reapply with those details as that is the first step in the process while this dog is being fostered near DAYTON, OHIO, we will gladly accept out of state applications so long as the entire potential forever family, including all household members ( resident pups and humans), can make it here locally for an in person meet and greet.
