About Jasper

Jasper is sweet, loving, and loyal, with a heart that's probably bigger than his ears. He came into rescue with his six siblings and his mom after being found in Little River Canyon National Park, Alabama. At around 4 to 5 months old and roughly 20 lbs, he's all energy—playful, funny, and always looking for a buddy to wrestle or chew toys with, whether it's a friendly dog or a human willing to toss a ball. He warms up fast and wears his affection as obviously as his puppy goofiness. In foster care in Maine, Jasper has surprised everyone with how quickly he adapts. He gets along easily with other dogs and is gentle around chickens and horses. He’s handled the four year old in his foster home with care, and can tag along to outdoor spots without fuss. His recall is impressive for his age, and he’s fine with anyone handling his ears, paws, tail, mouth, or toys. He’s not house trained yet—still very much a puppy—but that comes with growing up. An active home will suit Jasper best, especially one with a canine companion to romp with. He needs folks ready to keep up with his puppy ways now, and keep up the training and structure as he grows. If you’ve got some space on your couch after a long day at the park, you’ll have a friend who likes to snuggle as much as he likes to play. Jasper is a Capricorn, so you might notice some stubborn streaks mixed with his charm and smarts. Adoption includes transport to Maine, vaccinations, health certificate, neuter, and more. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
