Itzae is a standard Mexican Hairless, and she is so sweet, so funny, and so affectionate with her foster mom after only being with her for a short time! That said, she is considered a flight risk, and is very timid in new places and with new people. Because of this, we are requiring a fenced yard to keep her safe. We are still learning about her, and she came to the shelter as part of a neglect case so she is currently decompressing. Our understanding is that someone left her tied to the bumper of an unoccupied RV in the middle of winter. She has some sores that are healing after being at the shelter, the cement floor is not good for a hairless dog! She also came in very underweight, so we are working on that. While she is not ready for adoption just yet, we are accepting applications. We are giving preference to those with hairless dog breed experience AND fenced yards. Itzae is starting to play with her doggie foster brother, so it might be nice for her to join a family that already has a friendly dog. That is not a requirement, but certainly could be fun for her! :) She does have a cat in her foster home that she will bark at, but foster mom thinks she is more afraid of the cat than the cat is of her!
