About Spartacus
Spartacus is a gentle, affectionate soul wrapped in the most charming grumpy old man face. He’s calm, easygoing, and happiest when he’s touching his people, whether he’s curled against your leg or snoozing at your feet while you relax. Most of the day he’s mellow and content, but he still has adorable bursts of puppy energy. A few times a day he’ll break into zoomies, grab his favorite plush toy or squeaky ball, and toss it into the air so he can catch it himself. He’s a smart boy who knows how to sit, lie down, and give paw, though he sometimes insists on a treat before showing off. On walks he’s a dream companion. He doesn’t pull, he doesn’t tug, and he’ll match your pace whether you’re strolling slowly or walking briskly. Running isn’t his thing, but he loves a nice daily walk. He also has a lazy side and will happily sleep through the night, sleep in, and occasionally need a little encouragement to get up for his morning potty break. Spartacus loves wearing outfits, pajamas, and cozy shirts, and he’s an excellent passenger in the car. He doesn’t stick his head out the window, preferring to curl up in the back seat and nap while you drive. Even short outings make him light up with excitement. Spartacus has so much love, joy, and life to share. He would thrive in a calm, quiet home with people who enjoy relaxing together and appreciate a sweet, gentle dog who wants nothing more than to be close. He could do well as the only dog or with one friendly, well‑matched dog after a slow, thoughtful introduction. Sparty Party is truly a special boy, soft‑hearted, silly, and full of love, and he’s ready to make his forever family feel complete. ***For more information about this dog and information on how to apply to adopt, please visit www.ncbr.org*** Adoption Process At a Glance. - Step 1 – Fill out the Adoption Application - Step 2 – Preliminary Screening by Application Team which includes a Landlord Check (if applicable) and Vet Check - Step 3 – Meeting with appropriate boxer(s) - Step 4 – Home Visit - Step 5 – Adoption Day Adoption Requirements At a Glance. * You must be 21 years of age. * You must have a fenced in yard (exceptions can be made for certain dogs). * All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information). * Applicants with young children will be required to answer additional questions. * Applicants that rent must provide landlord contact info.
