Hi I'm Espi. I am a learning that the world can be find after being found severely starved on an abandoned property, left to fend for myself. I am ok now-that is in the past-but I am looking for someone patient to allow me the time like my foster mom does to feel safe with new people. I am around 5 years old Shy at first and takes some time to trust. The best way to win me over is actually to give her space and let her come to you-also food helps. Fast movements toward my face can make her nervous and calm energy goes a long way with me. Once we are friends I will ask you for pets by giving you my paw. I am house trained, crate trained and I do well with other dogs. While I am not necessarily looking for a constant playmate, I enjoy hanging out and coexisting with other dogs. I am very food motivated-have not mastered taking treats gently from your hand yet, but I absolutely love playing catch with treats and will happily participate in a snack toss session. Because I am still learning to feel safe in the world, I would do best in a calm, adult only home in an environment where people understand that trust takes time and will allow me to thrive. please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet.
