Hi, I’m Shakespeare! I’m a 1.5-year-old Lab mix weighing about 55 pounds, and I’ve got a big heart and an even bigger love for my people. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter down south and given a fresh start. Now I’m thriving in my foster home in Adrian, Michigan, where I’ve really started to let my true personality shine. Once I feel safe, I’m affectionate, loyal, and eager to please. I’ve settled nicely into a routine in foster care. I like heading outside to take care of business and stretch my legs with a few laps around the yard, and then I’m more than ready for what I love most — belly rubs! I’ll happily roll over anytime you’re willing to give me scratches. I’m respectful in the home, respond well to gentle correction, and do best with clear structure. I’m also continuing to work on my potty training and making great progress every day. I do well with other dogs and have also been good with cats. My gentle nature suggests I would do just fine with children. I have a wonderful balance of playful energy and calm companionship, and I truly just enjoy being near my people — whether that’s relaxing on my bed or soaking up attention. I’m fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.
