In the picture books angels have wings and halos. But some angels have whiskers, fur, and paws. I’m Angelica, a 4-year-old, high-energy kitty who came to Paws and Claws from a rescue partner. They told Paws and Claws that I can sometimes have “erratic energy” and that I may also “tend to avoid people and set clear boundaries.” That also means that I don’t especially like being handled or touched, but when I arrived here, I came out of my transport kennel easily, despite being rather tense. After I settled in a bit, I allowed petting through the bars of my new kennel. I seemed interested in a toy. I was not around other animals before coming here. With patience and gentle care, I can become more calm, more predictable, and more trusting. I may do best in a quiet home where I can adapt to the routine and my new surroundings at my own pace.
