OTIS 40-45 lbs 4-6 (we aren’t sure) When Otis first came to us, it was heartbreaking. He was completely neglected… bloody, extremely malnourished, and so weak he could barely walk. His little body had clearly been through more than any dog ever should. He was just a complete mess, physically and emotionally. But fast-forward a couple of weeks… and this boy is fighting his way back. Otis is doing so much better. He still needs to gain weight, and we’re working on getting him back to a healthy, strong place, but the improvement already is incredible. He looks forward to his time out of the kennel and enjoys being in the play yards. He doesn’t show a ton of interest in us just yet… but he “likes us for the most part” and honestly, after what he’s been through, we don’t blame him one bit. Trust takes time. Healing takes time. And Otis deserves all the time in the world. He seems gentle and doesn’t mind the other dogs here. One day in the play yard, he even picked up a little stuffy and played with it for a few minutes , and that small step showed us some of his personality that is there. Most days, though, you’ll find him curled up in his kennel, catching up on all the rest he likely never got before. Sweet boy is finally able to just… sleep peacefully. We truly believe there’s a beautiful personality waiting to bloom. We just haven’t seen the full “Otis” yet , because he’s still healing. That’s why we are looking for either: An adopter willing to continue his journey OR A foster who can help him gain weight, decompress in a quiet home, and show us who he really is A foster home would be absolutely amazing for him while we continue searching for his forever family.
