Bryson 60-70 lbs There’s something about a big dog trying to make himself small on a stranger’s porch that just stays with you. Bryson — our big, beautiful Cane Corso — was found hanging around someone’s home, tucked up close to the door, like he was just hoping that maybe… this porch could be his safe place. No collar. No ID. No microchip. Just a gentle giant trying to figure out where he belonged. And here’s the part that gets us — he is neutered. Which means at some point, someone cared. Someone invested in him. Someone likely loved him. Was he running for a long time? Did he just slip away and no one came looking? We may never know. What we do know is this… Bryson is kind. He knows “sit” and “stay.” He takes treats ever so gently. He walks nicely on a leash. He keeps his kennel clean. For a big boy, he carries himself softly. He’s been nose-to-nose with a few dogs here this week and doesn’t seem to mind them at all — but he mostly keeps to himself. He’s a little unsure, a little reserved… and honestly, that makes sense. The shelter is loud. It’s overwhelming. And Bryson feels like a dog who once had structure and a home. We’re unsure of his exact age. He could be a little older — he has that wise, steady energy about him. Because of his size and the fact that we’re still learning more about him, we are asking for no small children at this time. Older, respectful kids seem just fine. We don’t ever want to set anyone up for failure — we want success for Bryson and for his future family. He is a powerful breed, yes — but he’s showing us a thoughtful, gentle side that’s hard not to fall for. Imagine what it must have felt like for him… choosing someone’s porch as his safe haven.
