Meet Zoey – A Tiny Pup with a Big Heart Zoey is an adorable 7-lb, 7-month-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with the sweetest little face and a tender heart. While we don’t know much about her early puppyhood, it’s clear she didn’t get the confidence-building experiences every puppy deserves. Because of that, Zoey can be shy when meeting new people and may initially run away until she feels safe. With patience, kindness, and a gentle approach, Zoey truly blossoms. Once she trusts you, her loving personality shines through. She becomes a snuggly little companion who enjoys pets, belly rubs, and curling up close to her people. Watching her confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. Zoey is also very much a puppy! She loves to play, gets bursts of adorable zoomies, and may nibble playfully on fingers with those tiny puppy teeth. She thrives with other dogs and will need a confident canine sibling in her new home to help guide her and show her the ropes. Because Zoey is very small and quick, she will need a secure fenced yard and a family who understands that she can be a bit of a flight risk if startled. She’s currently learning to use a dog door and is doing well with potty training on grass. Zoey much prefers sleeping snuggled up with people or other pets rather than being crated. Zoey would do best in a calm home with older, gentle children who understand how to handle small dogs carefully. Her experience with cats is unknown, but based on her temperament she may do just fine with proper introductions. For families without another dog, Zoey may also be available to adopt along with one of her Underdog foster buddies that she has bonded with. We do keep applications on file for 90days in case the dog you apply for it already adopted or not the right fit simply email us to forward your application on to another dog of interest. Our dogs are in foster homes all over the Bay Area and all adopters are required to travel to the foster home to meet. We do not have a facility. No meet and greet can happen until application is completed. Our Commitment to Our Dogs Every dog in our care receives comprehensive veterinary care, including: • Spay/Neuter surgery • Microchipping • DHPP vaccination • Flea treatment and deworming • Rabies vaccination • Any additional vet care as needed The adoption fee for this dog is $350 serving as a non-refundable donation to help cover vetting, transport, and care costs.
