Bain has experienced an insecure and traumatic life so far. He is only about two years old and he is a retriever/lab mix. He was living downtown, hiding from people, and living on the kindness of some office staff at a nearby building. They watched Bain and did their best to win his trust, but could never get him close enough to bring to the shelter. Finally a humane trap was set and Bain was finally caught. Right now he is safe at the shelter. He has gotten all of his vaccinations, he has a microchip, and he was neutered. Unfortunately, Bain is heartworm positive. He has treatment already set up. The biggest thing holding back Bain right now is his fear. We have no idea what he has been through. He is getting his basic needs met and employees and volunteers are doing their best to reach out and make a connection with Bain. He is very nervous and afraid in the shelter environment. Bain desperately needs a foster home so he can relax and calm his fear. The noisy environment at the shelter is keeping him shutdown. A foster home without non-stop barking would be a great first step. Next would be someone to become his Adoption Ambassador so he could stay in a "home" environment while actively looking for his forever home. Will Bain be "lucky" for the first time in his life and find the quiet, calm environment that he needs to heal?
