About Lloyd
Lloyd’s an older Black Labrador Retriever mix with a gentle, patient spirit shaped by struggle. After being abandoned in the wild near Alexander City, he spent weeks alone, hungry and exposed before rescue. He showed up tired, infected, infested—physically worn out by survival, but still friendly, seeking kindness wherever he could find it. Medical care and time brought him back. What stands out isn’t just his recovery; it’s how he chose affection over fear and healing over bitterness. Now, Lloyd is doing well and ready for adopters who appreciate his resilience. He loves being outside, enjoys belly rubs, and won’t let himself go unnoticed—occasional polite barking is his way of checking in for more attention. Playful but content with life’s quieter side, he just wants a place to rest and someone to care. Lloyd gets attached and looks for stability, eager to give and receive comfort every day. Not one to hold a grudge, he’s proof that dogs can forgive and move forward. He needs a home where gentleness and routine come first, and it’s clear he’ll reward it with loyalty and warmth.
